Maribel Aldaco SILVA
FAUNA
Maribel Aldaco Silva is a Mexican pastry chef who began her professional training working in restaurants such as Martin Berasategui (Basque Country), Blue Hill at Stone Barns, The Nomad (NYC), and Quince (San Francisco). Along with her husband, she opened Fauna in 2018. In 2020, they opened Bruma Wine Garden, in 2022 El Tigre and El Tigrillo, and in 2023 La Morocha. She currently manages the pastry departments of five restaurants in Mexico, across three different cities.
Under Chef Maribel's direction, Fauna has received several accolades on the 50 Best Restaurants list: One to Watch in 2020, Highest New Entry in 2022, Best Pastry Chef in 2023, and Best Restaurant in Mexico in 2023.
