Shari Bayer has more than thirty years of experience in 'the industry,' from working the floor at Charlie Trotter's in Chicago and founding the NYC culinary and hospitality-focused PR agency, Bayer Public Relations, in 2003, to establishing her weekly podcast, All in the Industry, on Heritage Radio Network in 2014. Shari's PR clients have included the Central Park Boathouse, Sullivan Street Bakery, Au Za’atar, Serafina Restaurant Group, and The Chef's Garden, to name a few. 

Shari has hosted and produced over four hundred episodes of All in the Industry, which is dedicated to behind-the-scenes talent in hospitality. Her past guests include Danny Meyer, Massimo Bottura, Alain Ducasse, Ruth Reichl, Thomas Keller, Rasmus Munk, Carla Hall, Dale DeGroff, Daniel Boulud, Gail Simmons, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, and Drew Nieporent. In addition, Shari's “On the Road” shows cover premier culinary events, festivals and conferences, including the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, The World's 50 Best Restaurants, and James Beard Awards with exclusive red carpet interviews. 

Shari is the author of Chefwise: Life Lessons from Leading Chefs Around the World (Phaidon, Spring 2023), featuring invaluable advice from over 100 leading chefs, including Gaggan Anand, Carolina Bazan, Jeremy Chan, Mauro Colagreco, Tom Colicchio, Nina Compton, Dominique Crenn, Virgilio Martinez, Yoshihiro Narisawa, Elena Reygadas, Clare Smyth, and Alice Waters. In 2019, Shari took her passion to a new level with All in the Industry®, a new media and production company, launching H.O.S.T. Summit + Social, an all-day, inspirational, interactive and educational conference for, and about, the dynamic hospitality industry.  The inaugural event took place in January 2020 at The William Vale in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NYC.

Shari is a former president of the New York Women's Culinary Alliance, and member of Les Dames d'Escoffier NY, Heritage Radio Network, and the James Beard Foundation. A Miami native, Shari earned a BA from The University of Michigan, and a Culinary Certificate from the Cooking Academy of Chicago. She has lived in Manhattan since 1998. Shari has been recognized in Total Food Service's Top Women in Metro NY Foodservice & Hospitality, and Heritage Radio Network's Hall of Fame. Shari was named 'Best Host’ for All in the Industry at the Taste Awards 2023 and inducted into the Taste Hall of Fame for 2023-2024.  Shari is also a contributing writer for Fathom, Forbes, Tasting Table and Thrillist, and a fearless solo diner and traveler.
